Help for Sophie
Sophie Alexander is a Third year Medical Biochemistry student at Leicester University, and she was given the opportunity to add a year to her degree to study in the laboratories at Nara Woman's University in Japan. The ultimate objective is to become a doctor specializing in obstetrics.
Sophie has a student loan and when studying in England she worked part time for an agency as a carer to help pay for her living costs, but the travelling and living costs whilst in Japan were beyond her means.
The Royal Arch, aided by a generous donation from E.Comp. Tom Davies, stepped in and gave Sophie a £500 grant to help towards these costs for which she was truly grateful.
