E.Comp. Paul Cawte, the Buckinghamshire Second Provincial Grand Principal, who was recently appointed to the office of Grand Standard Bearer of Supreme Grand Chapter, was selected to escort the Most Excellent Second Grand Principal, E.Comp. George Francis to the Middlesex Annual Provincial Convocation on Wednesday 15th June 2011.
Paul said “To begin with it seemed to be an intimidating prospect, but in fact I found the Second Grand Principal to be charming company and very approachable. He is keenly interested in the development of the Royal Arch, and in particular the way Chapters develop and educate their newly-exalted Companions. This is very much in line with the way the Executive in our own Province views new Companions and we would ask all experienced Royal Arch Masons to consider themselves as potential ‘Mentors’ to the newest members of their Chapters.”
Also in attendance from Buckinghamshire were the ME Grand Superintendent Richard Neale, his Deputy E.Comp. John Keeble, fit and well after his recent knee operation, and E.Comp. John Stribling, the Provincial Grand Scribe ‘E’.
