The Companions of the Five Points Chapter celebrated their 100th convocation at Slough on Saturday 4th July. Attending as an honorary member was E.Comp. Leslie Harborne, who attended the consecration of the chapter on 28th June 1978 as Third Provincial Grand Principal.
To mark this milestone event, Leslie Harborne had been invited to read the oration he originally delivered at the consecration. The Companions listened attentively and were impressed to discovered that the points E.Comp. Harborne made all those years ago were as relevant today as they were then. It was clear that the Principals and Companions of the Chapter enjoyed the oration and were delighted that one of the founders, E.Comp. Roger Bashford, was also able to attend.
The MEZ E.Comp. Norman Birkitt said that “the work begun in 1978 has resulted in a successful Chapter that was friendly and proud of its ritual. We are currently seeking new members, either as potential candidates for exaltation or simply as joining members, to help us continue to grow this super Chapter.” Anyone interested should contact Graham McGowan-Smyth at 01865 769791
