A Treasured Moment at Stephens Chapter No. 3089
At the July convocation of Stephens Chapter No. 3089 a suitably engraved ruby coloured Bristol Glass Paperweight was presented to E.Comp. Ron Wooster, PPGTreas in grateful recognition of his outstanding service as Treasurer of the Chapter over the past twenty-five years.
E.Comp Ron was initiated into the Square and Level Lodge No. 6618, London in 1964 and was its Master in 1973, during which year the Lodge celebrated its Twenty-fifth Anniversary. In the History of the Lodge published to commemorate this landmark he is described as a “keen active Mason” with the mention “The Lodge is also fortunate in having the services of W.Bro. and Mrs. Ronald Wooster available for the attentive maintenance of our banner.”
Ron is the senior member of Stephens Chapter having been exalted into the Chapter in 1970, when it met at the Crown Hotel, Amersham, and installed as MEZ in 1976. He has received several Provincial appointments, the last being, most appropriately, Provincial Grand Treasurer in 1988.
It is obvious from these facts about Ron’s Masonic career that he has been an invaluable member throughout, none more so than at Stephens Chapter where he has faithfully and zealously discharged the duties of Treasurer for the last twenty-five years. These duties were not just those normally undertaken by the Treasurer but included many small additions such as arranging the dining and seating, collecting the Alms and even serving the wine.
The presentation was made E.Comp. Eddie Baldwin, the second senior member of the Chapter, in a most eloquent manner and expressing the high esteem in which E.Comp. Ron is held by all the Companions.
We now look forward to 2014 when we can all join Ron in celebrating fifty years in Freemasonry
