Paul Cawte doing his best to assist Eugene Matthias with his magic show at the Lakeside Fishery
Friday is Fish Day.
On Friday 19th August the Buckinghamshire section of the Masonic Fishing Charity held an outing for a group of Buckinghamshire Young Careers and partially-sighted adults from “Bucks Vision”, at the Lakeside Fishery at Cublington, near Wing. Our intrepid Second Provincial Grand Principal, Paul Cawte was there as a volunteer caster and was able to take charge of two of the young careers, both of whom were lucky to catch a large rainbow trout each. “It was a truly wonderful day, the weather was fabulous and the surroundings were just fantastic and everyone had a thoroughly enjoyable time.” said Paul. Many fish were caught by the guests of the charity assisted by their casters, all made possible by the generosity of the members of the Cymbeline Lodge who sponsored the event and the many volunteers who made it all possible. The Master of Cymbeline Lodge, who is also a Companion of the Princes Risborough Chapter, Paul Brissenden-Hemstock was delighted to participate in the presentation of certificates of achievement. Over lunch a short magic show was put on for the entertainment of those attending, by Eugene Matthias, the Secretary of Cymbeline Lodge and a member of the Manor of Swanburn Chapter, and a keen fly-fisherman himself (not to mention an excellent magician – but we all knew that didn’t we?).
