On Friday the 20th of September 2019, Buckinghamshire First Principals’ Chapter held a meeting of the Chapter at Beaconsfield Masonic Centre, the companions who were present received a wonderful lecture entitled “Buckinghamshire Freemasons on the Front 1914 to 1918”. The lecture was delivered by Bro Barrie Friend, it was wonderfully detailed, a real insight into the history of the First World War and the participation of Buckinghamshire Freemasons, on the Front and on the home front.  The talk was very interesting and well received by the companions.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.
