MEGS RICHARD SPARKS INTEREST IN LOCAL CHURCH GROUP.

The Grand Superintendent, Dr. Richard Neale, gave an informative presentation to a United Benefice group of local churches on February 17th. His talk on the subject of “Freemasonry in a Contemporary Society”, was well attended by members of the congregations of three local churches in the Farnham Common and Hedgerley areas of South Buckinghamshire. Richard and his wife Pru are great supporters of their own church, St. John the Evangelist, in Farnham Common, and do a great deal to assist wherever they are able. Pru often performs with the church choir and sings soprano in many productions.

In his presentation at the St. John’s church hall, Richard presented Freemasonry and it’s benefits to society in a modern context. In this he was joined by Paul Cawte who was able to talk about his experiences with the Bucks branch of the Masonic Fishing Charity, and what it did to give underprivileged children and adults with disabilities memorable and stimulating days out.

There were many questions following Richard’s presentation, which emphasised the level of interest shown by those in attendance. The audience was generally very positive about what they had learned about today’s Freemasonry and thanked Richard and Paul for their enthusiastic efforts. Subsequently, Richard has been approached by a local WI branch with a request to give his talk sometime in the summer.
