Why Graeme Laws, Companion of Addington Chapter, produced plaques for the lodge room, Eliot Hall, Winslow.
I was invited by members of Wineslai Chapter of Royal Arch Masons to create four wooden plaques to be mounted onto the wall of the lodge room. The intention was that, as is the case in many other lodge rooms in the Province, these wooden plaques would be a permanent reminder of the existence of Chapter. It was hoped they would add a little colour and interest and create a useful discussion point, thus encouraging brethren to consider the next stage in their Masonic journey. It was not intended that the plaques would replace the existing banners that are used in meetings. Instead, by giving the Chapters the option, the choice would be theirs. Some of the brethren felt that it may reduce the wear and tear on the banners and give them some longevity.
