First Principals see the Future!

MEGS Graham Peter Dearing

On Friday the 14th of January, Buckinghamshire First Principals Chapter held their Installation Meeting at Slough Masonic Centre. The Meeting was well attended with members present from all parts of the Province along with the Provincial Executive and distinguished companions visiting from other Provinces First Principals Chapters.

It was good to see the Chapter in good form, after missing a number of meetings due to the covid pandemic, at the start of the meeting the companions stood to order in reflection of the sad loss of two well-loved Companions, E Comp Arthur Tulip who had been a member of the Chapter for 51 years and E Comp Roger Columbine who would have installed as one of the Principals at this meeting.

By proclamation E Comp Peter Gledhill, First Principal and Robert Chaproniere, Second Principal continued in Office, E Comp John Stribling was installed as Third Principal by acting Third Principal E Comp Peter Harborne in a well delivered ceremony.

The high light of the evening was an interesting talk on the future of the Royal Arch Province of Buckinghamshire given by our Most Excellent Grand Superintendent Graham Dearing. Graham promoted the "Provincial Challenge" for each member of the Province to find a new member for Exaltation within three years. Graham announce a few changes for the Provincial Executive, hard working Assistant Provincial Grand Master Phillip Blacklaw to be promoted to Second Provincial Grand Principal, equally hard working Almoner, Stephen Knight promoted to Third Provincial Grand Principal, Christopher Swinhoe-Standen promoted to Assistant to the Provincial Grand Principals, Michael Lockie to Provincial Grand Scribe Nehemiah and Paul Bird to Provincial Grand Director of Ceremonies (a full list of Appointments and Promotions available on this website). The companions present showed their appreciation of the changes.

At the conclusion of the meeting the companions were treated to a superb festive board, good food, good wine, good speeches and superb companionship!
