Monday Morning Masonic Facts - pt2

The first Master Mason in charge of building the main part of Salisbury Cathedral, Nicholas of Ely, was paid one shilling and sixpence (just over 7p) per day when he began working on it in 1227. He became Bishop of Salisbury in 1287.
