Stewards Enjoyably Pass the Veils!
On Tuesday the 6th of December, Buckinghamshire Provincial Grand Stewards Chapter held a regular meeting of their Chapter at Beaconsfield Masonic Centre. The meeting was well attended with over 80 companions present including our Most Excellent Grand Superintendent (MEGS), E Comp Graham Peter Dearing.
This meeting was special, as the ceremony of "passing of the veils" was demonstrated by the Stewards. The wonderful ceremony 'passing of the veils', which is performed prior to a candidate entering the Chapter room and being exalted – a ceremony which is only actively performed now days in England by the Province of Bristol.
The demonstration of the ceremony "passing of the veils" was narrated by our MEGS, E Comp Graham Peter Dearing in his inimitable style and the candidate was E Comp Darren Mantel a member of the Chapter who had made all of the large number of furnishings required for the ceremony.
The demonstration ceremony was beautifully worked by the Stewards, very interesting, informative a real pleasure for all who had the good fortune to be present, at the conclusion of the demonstration the companions showed their appreciation!
Buckinghamshire Provincial Grand Stewards Chapter, in the future, will demonstrate the ceremony "passing of the veils" at other locations through out the Province, if you get the chance to attend do not miss out!
